The opening day of Newmarket's Future Champions Festival is headlined by the Fillies' Mile. This top-quality Group One has been won by many outstanding fillies since it was created in 1973, including the great Oh So Sharp, who went on to win the Triple Crown the following season.

2023 Fillies' Mile Tips - Caught U Looking
On paper, this has to be one of the worst Fillies' Mile that we've ever seen. The eight fillies who've been confirmed for Friday's feature have won just two Group Threes and a Listed race between them and only the top two in the market have recorded an RPR in excess of 100.
Ylang Ylang is the only runner with Group One experience, having finished ninth in the Moyglare during Irish Champions Weekend. I haven't warmed to Aidan O'Brien's filly at all this season and have no interest in backing her until she's stepped up to middle distances next season.
Shuwari is the obvious place to start, given that she beat the future Moyglare winner, Fallen Angel at Sandown and placed second in the Rockfel Stakes last time out. Classical Song won what's turned out to be a very good maiden by three lengths at Sandown and I wouldn't be surprised if she was good enough to land a blow, even from a potentially tricky draw in stall one.
CAUGHT U LOOKING beat a 100-rated Joseph O'Brien colt by five lengths on her second start at Leopardstown, before going on to run in the Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh last month. Noel Meade's youngster was weak in the betting beforehand, as money came for market rival Sakti, but it was Caught U Looking who travelled best through the race and picked off the favourite on the run to the line.
It's been 25 years since Noel Meade last celebrated a flat winner on British soil. The veteran trainer is, however, enjoying one of the best flat campaigns he's had since the early '90s and Caught U Looking will be Colin Keane's only ride of the day at Newmarket.

Verdict
Caught U Looking ran out an impressive winner of a Group Three on Irish soil last time out and her progression shows no signs of slowing down. She could be the one to back in what is an exceptionally weak renewal of this storied Group One.
