2025 Coronation Stakes Entries
With both Lake Victoria and Falakeyah both missing Royal Ascot, Zarigana is the short-priced favourite for the Coronation Stakes. Francis-Henri Graffard's filly won the French 1000 Guineas in the stewards' room last month, extending her record to four wins and a second from five career starts.
Aidan O'Brien's challenge could be spearheaded by Exactly, who finished a close fourth behind Zarigana in that French Classic. Ralph Beckett could be represented by Chantilly Lace, following her fifth-place finish in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Flight finished second behind Desert Flower at Newmarket, but was well-beaten when sixth behind Lake Victoria in the Irish equivalent. 1000 Guineas third, Simmering finished next to last at the Curragh, but could remain at Group One level, along with Aidan O'Brien's second-string January, who placed eighth on her reappearance in the Irish 1000 Guineas.
Joseph Murphy's Cercene finished four lengths behind Lake Victoria in third at the Curragh and could make her British debut at Royal Ascot. Other potential runners include Aidan O'Brien's Heavens Gate, Celestial Orbit for Ollie Sangster, Fred Darling winner Duty First, and Owen Burrows' two-time all-weather winner Glittering Surf.
