Day three at Royal Ascot is headlined by one of the most prestigious races of the entire week, the Royal Ascot Gold Cup. This two-and-a-half-mile flat race was first staged at Ascot in 1807, and Stradivarius will attempt to become just the second four-time winner of this great race when he returns to Berkshire next week.

2021 Royal Ascot Gold Cup Entries

John Gosden's star stayer powered home on soft ground to claim the most impressive of his three victories in the Gold Cup 12 months ago. Frankie Dettori's mount will now attempt to match Yeats' feat of four straight victories, and Paddy Power make Stradivarius their Even-money favourite.

Mark Johnston's Dubai Gold Cup winner, Subjectivist sits second in the current Gold Cup betting. Alan King's Trushan and Yorkshire Cup winner Spanish Mission also sit at single-figure prices.

Aidan O'Brien has Santiago, Tiger Moth and Amhran Na Bhfiann entered against Stradivarius. Donnacha O'Brien could also have his first Gold Cup runner, as Emperor Of The Sun features in the current entries.
