2025 Aintree Hurdle Entries
Constitution Hill's unbeaten record was ended by a mid-race fall in the Champion Hurdle earlier this month. Nicky Henderson's star has declared that Britain's top hurdler will run at Aintree before going on to Punchestown, and most bookies list Constitution Hill as the odds-on favourite to win his second Liverpool Hurdle.
Brighterdaysahead failed to live up to her reputation again when well-beaten in the Champion Hurdle, but did claim Grade One honours as a novice at this meeting 12 months ago. Lossiemouth bypassed the Champion Hurdle in favour of a second victory in the Mares' Hurdle and Willie Mullins has handed an Aintree entry to his star mare.
Mullins could also be represented by the lightly-raced Kitzbuhel and Jimmy Du Seuil, who won the Coral Cup on his seasonal reappearance. Gordon Elliott has handed a further entry to runaway Martin Pipe winner Wodhooh, who remains unbeaten over hurdles.
After Langer Dan was retired this week, Dan Skelton has subbed in Mares' Hurdle third, Take No Chances and beaten Coral Cup favourite, Be Aware. Other potential runners on day one of the Grand National Festival include Altobelli for Harry Fry, Gary Moore's five-year-old Salver, Tellherthename for the O'Neills, and Break My Soul for Irish trainer Ian Donoghue.
