"He seems to be very well in himself" - Inothewayurthinkin supplemented for the Gold Cup

Galopin Des Champs will face a depleted field as he looks to make history with a third successive Gold Cup victory. At Saturday's confirmation stage, just nine horses were confirmed for this year's contest, with Ryanair Chase-bound Fact To File the latest to be withdrawn.

There was, however, good news on the Gold Cup front, as Gavin Cromwell supplemented Inothewayurthinkin into the race. Cromwell said earlier in the week that the Grand National favourite was likely to be added to the field, where he and Corbetts Cross would represent owner JP McManus.

"I was very happy with him this morning, it all went well, and if he pulls out well tomorrow morning he will be supplemented for the Gold Cup." Cromwell said on Friday.

"He seems to be very well in himself and he's progressive. Just like last season, he seems to be progressing as the season goes on. He has improved since the Dublin Racing Festival and hopefully he won't be too far away."

Along with Fact To File, Grey Dawning was removed from the Gold Cup picture on Saturday. Venetia Williams took L'Homme Presse out of the contest, meaning that Britain will be represented in this year's Gold Cup by The Real Whacker, Ahoy Senor and Royal Pagaille - all three are prices at 66/1 or bigger.

Banbridge, Monty's Star and Gentlemansgame remain in contention. Henry De Bromhead also left Ryanair entry Jungle Boogie in the contest. Inothewayurthinkin would be the tenth and final runner if all of the other Gold Cup entrants stand their ground.
