Kennedy Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Happy Valley Roughie - Race 4 No. 9 Supreme Feeling
Supreme Feeling showed some promise in a string of Australian jump-outs when prepared by Ben, Will & JD Hayes before joining their father David’s stable.
While not as prominent in his Hong Kong lead-up work, there were still encouraging signs from the three-year-old, who was mostly under a hold in those pre-Christmas hit-outs prior to his January 1 debut at Sha Tin.
That debut was an even performance, although well held, in a race that has since produced three subsequent winners.
He is long odds following a plain second-up effort.
Blinkers have been applied this evening and, in a February 13 Happy Valley trial with that gear change in effect, he finished third.
The Volunteers' Challenge Cup Tips (Race 5)
Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 5 No. 8 Rainbow Seven
Rainbow Seven is a nine-start maiden who recorded a hat-trick of placings between May and July last year.
He has not figured in the placings in five runs this season; however, there have been excuses in his most recent efforts, with wide draws proving costly in two Sha Tin 1400m outings late in 2025.
The gelding moved nicely when winning a January 12 trial, which resulted in him starting favourite for his first Happy Valley appearance on February 4.
Although it reads as eleventh of twelve, that effort is worth forgiving as Rainbow Seven was badly held up in the home straight and never got a clear look at them.
He is prepared by in-form trainer Francis Lui, who has already recorded 17 winners this season.
Stubbs Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 7 No. 11 Win Beauty Viva
Win Beauty Viva arrived in Hong Kong off a strong Australian breakthrough at start two but was never in contention on debut for the John Size stable last year.
Sharp improvement was shown at start two when switching to Happy Valley, where he finished runner-up.
He was subsequently spelled after that May 28 run, and there was merit in the midfield effort first-up last month despite a four-length defeat after racing wide and being hampered at the 500m.
The February 4 performance was another solid run; however, once again he was set a big task from a wide alley.
A lightly raced galloper with upside, he won a February 12 trial and now, from gate one, he gets his chance on Wednesday night.
Wan Chai Gap Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Happy Valley Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 4 Greater Bae
Greater Bae started at long odds on Hong Kong debut but should have finished much closer in that November 26 attempt after being badly held up in the home straight.
There were further excuses second-up at Sha Tin, where he covered ground in a 1200m contest and became unbalanced after blundering at the 200m.
Zac Purton took the reins for a January 15 trial win and was aboard again for the January 28 victory.
In that latest success, the four-year-old settled off the speed before finishing strongly, which may have been the penny-drop moment.
He carries a 3.5kg penalty here; however, he had plenty in hand late last start and there could be further improvement.
