Aidan O'Brien has enjoyed plenty of success at the Ebor Festival down the years, winning the Juddmonte International Stakes and the Yorkshire Oaks on numerous occasions.
Ahead of another brilliant Ebor Festival kicking off at York, Aidan O'Brien sat down with Racing TV to discuss his big runners for the week.

Aidan O'Brien Stable Tour for Ebor Festival 2026
Constitution River (Juddmonte International)
This is a different horse to Delacroix (second to Ombudsman in the race last season). It’s his power, his scope. The way he stays and quickens. He always was a very unusual horse, and he’s got a great mind. He’s developing really well every month, so every time he runs we’re really looking forward to it.
He’s very out there. He doesn’t have to have things go his way, he’s very happy to do things himself. He’s a very, very exciting horse, this.
Our horse would be happy with a frenetic pace. There’s every chance that our lad will get further than a mile-and-a-quarter, and every race, as you know, we’re much more happy to get beat for a strong pace than to get beat for a mess. The pace will be strong and even, and that’s how you can gauge a horse. Our horse is relentless.
Giant Sequoia (Acomb Stakes)
He’s a lovely big, powerful Frankel. We are trying not to go too quick too early with him, but we thought this would be a nice stepping stone. He came out of his Curragh run lovely, and he came forward lovely from his first to his second run. We think he’s came forward again, so he’s obviously a very exciting horse.
Christmas Day (Great Voltigeur Stakes)
He came out of the Irish Derby very well. To run here it gives him plenty of options. He can run in a Leger, he can run in an Arc, he can do anything really. He’s a lovely laid back horse, who only does what he has to do, and the ground doesn’t really matter to him.
I’d say he’s very much underappreciated. He’s never been flashy. He won his trial here and ran a good race in the Dante, over a mile-and-a-quarter. He went forward in the Derby. He’s very straightforward, he’s brave. A lot of horses sat back and didn’t follow him, and he just kept going relentlessly. It was the same thing in the Irish Derby, he went forward, and our other horse (Benvenuto Cellini) was the only horse who picked him up.
Pierre Bonnard (Great Voltigeur Stakes)
He’ll probably go there too, as it’s a nice stepping stone for whatever he does next. Whether that be a Leger or something else. He’s a lovely big horse, though, and he’ll be an even better horse next year.
Minnie Hauk (Yorkshire Oaks)
We’re building back from the Arc. The plan is to go to the Yorkshire Oaks with her, and then back to the Arc. We rode her a little too forward in the King George and she got caught beside one of our own horses, Lambourn. She was probably in a gear too high the whole way and it cost her in the last furlong.
She’s one of those fillies where a mile and a half is far enough for her. She wouldn’t want to go any further, and we saw at Ascot that a mile and a quarter she’s very comfortable at.
Mission Central (Nunthorpe Stakes)
We think it probably was the six furlongs (that caught him out in the July Cup). He got caught up in the pace very early. We thought he might have done what he did at Ascot and come back a little bit, but he landed there early and was caught in the pace the whole way. Over five, that’s fine, but over six he’d probably have to be ridden to get it.
Five furlongs at York will be no problem for him. He is quick. He’s a quick horse. His best runs this year have all come over five.
Lambourn (Lonsdale Cup)
A big run in the King George, and it would be very interesting if he went (to York). It’s possible that he would, he came out of Ascot well. He would be a very classy, a very, very classy stayer if that’s what the lads decide to do with him.
Puerto Rico (City Of York Stakes)
It’s possible he could run in it. He won his Group One over seven furlongs last year and it’s very possible he could run. It (the race) gives those type of horse options, and they can go back up to a mile afterwards.
