Shark Hanlon splashed out just £850 to purchase Hewick as a young horse. Since then, Hanlon's purchase has won the Durham National, the bet365 Gold Cup, the Galway Plate and the American version of the Grand National.
Hewick claimed his first Graded victory in the Oaksey Chase at Sandown in 2023, before going on to land the King George VI Chase at Kempton at the end of that year. Hanlon's stable star has mixed it between hurdles and fences since then, and enters his first Grand National on the back of an easy win over the smaller obstacles at Thurles.
