2024 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Runners
The market for this year's Arc received a severe shake-up this weekend, after top races took place at Longchamp and Leopardstown. Look De Vega lost his unbeaten record when third in the Prix Niel behind Sosie, who replaced his countryman as the new favourite for next month's Arc.
Over at Leopardstown, Los Angeles kept on from the rear to finish fourth in the Irish Champion Stakes, and was immediately cut into 8/1 third-favouritism for the Arc. Yoshito Yahagi's Shin Emperor finished even better than Los Angeles, crossing the line third behind Economics and Auguste Rodin, and the Japanese raider is now also available at 8/1.
Bluestocking was cut into 10/1 after her victory in the Prix Vermeille, with connections keen to supplement into Europe's most prestigious flat race. Aventure was slashed into 16/1, following her narrow defeat to Bluestocking in the Vermeille.
Joseph O'Brien has pointed impressive Preix von Berlin winner, Al Riffa at Europe's most prestigious race. Jean-Claude Rouget has handed entries to the Ballydoyle-owned Delius, and the fourth from 2022, Al Hakeem.
Andre Fabre's Mqse De Sevigne could join stablemate Sosie in the contest. Do Deuce, who finished next-to-last in the 2022 renewal of the Arc, could also represent Japan in this year's contest. Other potential runners include Ralph Beckett's Irish Oaks winner You Got To Me, former St Leger winner Continuous, Feed The Flame for Pascal Bary, and Frau Steinberg's stable star, Fantastic Moon.
