King George betting shaken up after Willie Mullins removed all eight entrants
The betting landscape for the King George VI Chase has dramatically changed after trainer Willie Mullins withdrew all eight of his horses from the competition, including top contenders like Gaelic Warrior and Il Etait Temps. This unexpected move has shifted the odds, with Corbetts Cross and Envoi Allen now leading the betting. Despite the absence of Mullins' entries, Ireland remains a strong contender with other horses like Hewick and Jungle Boogie expected to compete. Former Grade One winner L'Homme Presse currently stands as the highest-placed British runner in the betting odds.

- Despite Mullins' absence, strong Irish representation expected
The betting for this year's King George VI Chase was given an overhaul today, after Willie Mullins removed all of his eight entrants.
Following Il Est Francais' dismal showing in France, Gaelic Warrior had jumped to the head of the King George VI Chase betting. In both of his stable tours, Willie Mullins has said that the King George was being taken under serious consideration for his Arkle winner, and for stablemate Il Etait Temps, who beat Gaelic Warrior when the two met at Punchestown in April.
The latest confirmation stage for the King George passed on Tuesday. To the surprise of all in the racing media, Gaelic Warrior and Il Etait Temps were both absent from the list of acceptors. In-fact, Willie Mullins had removed all eight of his initial entrants, including Capodanno, Grangeclare West, Blue Lord and Galopin Des Champs.
"Today's news has led to a huge shake-up ahead of this year's Ladbrokes King George." said spokesman for the race-sponsors, Alex Apati.
"Gaelic Warrior's absence means Corbetts Cross and Envoi Allen both head the betting at the entry stage, with punters leaning towards the latter as things stand."
Even without Willie Mullins, Ireland looks set to be well-represented at Kempton. Corbetts Cross missed the Betfair Chase, but is expected to be fit in time for Christmas. Envoi Allen could make the trip over to England, having claimed his customary victory at Down Royal last month.
Shark Hanlon withdrew Hewick from the Betfair Chase when the ground became too testing. He will likely head back to Kempton to defend his crown on Boxing Day, along with another runner from the Henry De Bromhead yard, Jungle Boogie.
With Grey Dawning unlikely to run following his runner-up effort to Royal Pagaille at Haydock, former Grade One winner L'Homme Presse is the highest-placed British runner in the betting. Il Est Francais remains a possible for Kempton. Found A Fifty and Banbridge could also make the trip over from Ireland.
