The showpiece event at Kempton's Christmas Festival is the King George VI Chase. This historic Grade One, which was first run at Kempton Park back in 1937, has been won by many of the sport's most legendary three-mile chasers, including Arkle, Wayward Lad, Desert Orchid and Kauto Star.

Here's a look through the current King George VI Chase betting and a rundown of the most likely runners.

2025 King George VI Chase Entries

Gaelic Warrior got the better of Fact To File as the two met on their reappearance in the John Durkan. Willie Mullins caused a stir this time 12 months ago when he withdrew all of his entrants at the three-week declaration stage. Thankfully, the same hasn't happened this year, and both Gaelic Warrior and Fact To File remain in the entries.

It seemed for a while like Gaelic Warrior would be Willie Mullins' only representative, with Fact To File entered against Galopin Des Champs and Inothewayurthinkin in the Savills Chase. However, Fact To File's odds began to tumble this week, and some firms even list Mullins' Ryanair Chase winner as the favourite to win at Kempton.

Sitting closest to Gaelic Warrior in the market is Jango Baie. Nicky Henderson's Arkle winner sparkled on his reappearance at Ascot, thrashing a decent field by nine lengths when landing the 1965 Chase.

On the same day up at Haydock, The Jukebox Man made a triumphant return to action with a wire-to-wire victory in the Graduation Chase. Ben Pauling's star has won all three of his starts over fences, and currently sits third in the King George market.

Venetia Williams' Djelo has returned this season with wins in the Charlie Hall and Peterborough Chases, and looks set to step back into Grade One company over Christmas. Banbridge hasn't tasted victory since winning this race 12 months ago, and was beaten 30 lengths on his reappearance in the Hilly Way. Martin Brassil has entered Fastorslow, despite a poor return from injury when a distant fourth in the John Durkan.

Last year's runner-up, Il Est Francais went out like a light having tried to make the running in the 1965 Chase, and remains a doubt for the Boxing Day feature at Kempton. Other likely runners include Emmanuel Clayeux's French raider Kolokico, Henry De Bromhead's Ryanair Chase runner-up Heart Wood, Gordon Elliott's Grade Two winner Firefox, and another for the Willie Mullins' stable, in Grand National third Grangeclare West.
