2024 Nunthorpe Stakes Result and Replay - Bradsell powers to Group One glory at York
The third instalment of Asfoora vs Big Evs took place at York on Friday during the 2024 Nunthorpe Stakes. Royal Ascot winner, Asfoora, led the betting, but it was Bradsell who emerged victorious, delivering an impressive performance. Believing and Starlust finished second and third, respectively, with Asfoora coming in fourth. Archie Watson's training skill was highlighted as Bradsell claimed his second Group One win, having only returned earlier this month.

The third instalment of Asfoora vs Big Evs took place at York on Friday, as the two rivals contested the 2024 Nunthorpe Stakes.
Royal Ascot winner, Asfoora led the way in the betting for Oisin Murphy and Henry Dwyer. Big Evs, who beat his Australian counterpart at Glorious Goodwood, was weak in the betting during the build-up, with money coming for Archie Watson's Bradsell.
With defending champion, Live In The Dream and Sprint Cup hero, Regional out of the contest, Believing and Washington Heights came in for support. Ralph Beckett's Starlust was looking for his third course win of the season, with fellow course winners Azure Blue and Clarendon House also featuring in the field.
The fast-starting Ponntos was expected to make the running from his low draw in stall one. Frost At Dawn and So Majestic were friendless in the market as the runners entered the starting stalls.

Clarendon House came out of the stalls sideways, as Ponntos powered into an early lead. Bradsell tracked the leader on the inside rail, with Washington Heights making the pace down the centre.
Asfoora was positioned handily behind Washington Heights, but at the halfway stage, the leaders on the rail held a clear advantage. Ponntos soon gave way, as Hollie Doyle and Bradsell surged into a four length lead.
Ryan Moore took Believing wide to try and make up some ground. Asfoora kept on well to her credit, with Starlust coming through to mount a challenge. But the runners down the centre were always playing catch-up, and Bradsell kept up the gallop to record his second Group One win.
This was a fantastic piece of training by Archie Watson, as Bradsell only made his seasonal reappearance at Deauville earlier this month. Believing's effort had to be marked up significantly too, considering he was drawn on the wrong side of the track and looked outpaced at halfway.
Bradsell crossed the line a length and a half clear of Believing and Starlust. Asfoora finished close behind in fourth. Big Evs never featured.
