Turffontein racecourse hosts a good card today, with the first race set to go off at 11:05am (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing selections for today.

Turffontein Tips - Saturday 10th October

Race 3 - GREEN FAIRWAY (7)

GREEN FAIRWAY produced a promising debut effort over 1450m on this course. He was slow into stride, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1600m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

Race 4 - HAZY DAZY (1)

HAZY DAZY is the top bet on the programme. She moved up well in the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring F & M Challenge last time before getting caught late by Flower Island. The daughter of Act Of War would have come on from the run. She is the class horse in this contest and should find herself in the winner’s enclosure

Race 7 - PROTECTOR OF PEACE (8)

PROTECTOR OF PEACE produced a good local debut when third over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that Little Boy Blue has come out and won again since. The son of Royal Mo will enjoy the rise to 1450m and with luck in running, he may be the one to beat.

Race 8 - IDEAL SUMMER (6)

IDEAL SUMMER was not beaten far in his last two starts over 1600m. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. The son of Ideal World has dropped in the ratings and Apprentice Blaine Marx-Jacobson may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 9 - KNOWMORE (4)

KNOWMORE challenged strongly over 1600m on this course last time, but found one too good in the form of Palace Attack. He has won once and finished second twice from as many starts on this course. He is in a good space and can go one better.

Verdict

Hazy Dazy (Race 4) is Magic Tips' best bet of the day at Turffontein on Saturday.
