Vaal racecourse hosts a decent card today, with the first race set to go off at 12:10pm (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing selections this morning.

Vaal Races Tips - Thursday 28th August

Race 1 - REDLIGHTGREENLIGHT (5)

REDLIGHTGREENLIGHT has produced three good efforts to date. He stayed on when third over this distance on the Classic course last time. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should strip much fitter and in this field, he can shed his maiden tag.

Race 3 - SEA WOLF (2)

SEA WOLF was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. 4kgs claiming apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia retains the ride and if repeating that effort, he can follow up with another victory.

Race 5 - TIME FOR CHARITY (7)

TIME FOR CHARITY was running on when third over 1200m on this course last time. She finished strongly when winning her penultimate outing over this distance on the Classic course. The daughter of Time Thief is in a good space and can notch up her fifth-career victory.

Race 6 - TWOSTEP QUEEN (1)

TWOSTEP QUEEN was not disgraced when third against stronger over 1600m last time. She raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Potala Palace drops back in class and with the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia, she should be hard to peg back.

Race 7 - ANNEWITHAN E (3)

ANNEWITHAN E is better than her last start over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course. She won her penultimate outing over this C&D. It is encouraging that Callan Murray keeps faith in the ride. She has cracked a good draw of three and can notch up her fourth-career victory.

Verdict

Sea Wolf (Race 3) is Magic Tips' best bet of the day at Vaal on Thursday.
