The 2022 Ebor Festival kicks off on Wednesday, and one trainer who's sure to thrust his name into the headlines is Aidan O'Brien.

The master of Ballydoyle welcomed Sporting Life through their gates this weekend, ahead of a meeting O'Brien always targets.

"We really enjoy it. Love it, actually. It's (York) is a beautiful place." O'Brien told Sporting Life.

"It's a very fair, fast track. The ground is always beautiful and everyone is always very well looked-after."

O'Brien then went into a little extra detail about which runners he'll be sending over to York for the Ebor Festival. Read what Ireland's champion trainer has had to say here.

Aidan O'Brien Stable Tour - Ebor Festival Quotes

High Definition

"His best run this season came at the Curragh over a mile-and-a-quarter in the Tattersalls (Gold Cup). If he goes, the pace will be strong. He likes to go all the way. He's in good form and we're thinking of running him (in the Juddmonte International Stakes) at the moment."

"He's a high tempo horse with a long stride and we think that the track might suit him. His best runs are when we let him roll and that's what he does at his best."

Tuesday

"She’s been a late foal and almost playing catching-up all the time. It was a little bit of a mess for her in the (Irish) Derby, that wasn’t her form. That’s why we’ve given her a little break and I’m looking forward to seeing her back on the track."

"Snowfall and Love (winners of the Yorkshire Oaks) were great fillies but this filly is progressing."

"It’s a good race and it’s great they’re all there – hopefully they’ll go an even pace. We’re looking forward to it."

Meditate

"She's very good. She's ready to run. She has the choice of the Lowther, the Debutante or a race in France for two-year-old fillies on Sunday."

"She would have a choice of the Prix Morny either, so that would tell you what a quality filly she is. There's every chance, it's very possible that she could go (to the Lowther Stakes.)"

Aesop's Fables

"He won't mind good ground (in the Gimcrack), but obviously it's a long time since he ran and we obvious'y don't want to take any chance with him. His first run back, we want him to come out of it well and we don't want him to feel any ouchy after it."

"It's like any athlete, when they come back for their first run, they can be a bit sore, so we'll wait as long as we can to decide about him. But we've always liked him and he's in a good place at the moment."
