Baaeed maintained his unbeaten record with an effortless victory in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. William Haggas has been keen to push his star miler up to ten furlongs for a while now and, with Desert Crown, Vadeni and Adayar out of the race, bet365 make Baaeed their 4/9 favourite.
Leading the charge against the favourite is Mishriff, who bolted up by six lengths in this race 12 months ago. Charlie Appleby's Irish Guineas winner, Native Trail finished a place behind Mishriff when third in the Coral-Eclipse, and could remain over ten furlongs.
Joseph O'Brien has entered up State Of Rest, but the Cox Plate is his main objective for the season. William Haggas could also run Tattersalls Gold Cup winner, Alenquer.
Aidan O'Brien could run any one of Luxembourg, Point Lonsdale, High Definition and Order Of Australia. Other notable entrants on day one of the Ebor Festival include top three-year-old fillies Nashwa and Tuesday, William Knight's Sir Busker and Majestic Dawn for Paul and Oliver Cole.
