Lavender Handicap Tips (Race 3)
Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 3 No. 7 Incredible Moment
He's well-bred, with Incredible Moment from the same family as Nothin' Leica Dane (dual Group 1 winner), while Hall Of Fame (half-brother) was a Group 1 winner in New Zealand.
Incredible Moment showed ability in three Australian trials before being sold and his Hong Kong work for Mark Newnham has been stronger, with three trials completed this year.
The three-year-old moved well via a 1000m heat prior to winning a Happy Valley trial and he was last seen taking out a 1200m Sha Tin workout in slick time for the March 27 set.
Luke Ferraris is the main jockey for the Mark Newnham stable, with the pair having combined for 12 winners this season and he's been aboard Incredible Moment in all three hit-out's.
The Lusitano Challenge Cup Tips (Race 5)
Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 5 No. 7 Rising Phoenix
This son of Darci Brahma outperformed a big starting price on Hong Kong debut, where he made ground from off the speed to grab fourth in race that suited the on-speed brigade.
He was spelled after that November 24 performance and Rising Phoenix defeated three subsequent winners via that 1000m dash, while Brenton Avdulla sticks for start two.
It's been a good season for Brenton Avdulla, who currently sits equal-fourth in the Hong Kong Jockeys' Premiership and 24 of his 36 winners this season have been recorded in 2025.
With three trials completed over March and April, Rising Phoenix has a decent enough platform for Wednesday's return assignment, while kicking off at 1200m is a positive.
Heather Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Happy Valley Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 6 Smart City
A two-time winner in Australia before moving to Hong Kong, Smart City hasn't saluted for Ricky Yiu stable, but he has been mostly consistent following a slow start for the new yard.
The five-year-old failed to figure in four Class 3 attempts last year before moving down in grade for his seasonal return and he's now getting down in the weights for Class 4 company.
After carrying bigger imposts in this grade, which includes a third-of-twelve finish with 60.5kg in November, Smart City had this 56kg mark when returning from a freshen-up on March 12.
In an on-speed dominated affair, there was merit to his chasing performance from the rear in that last showing, while with visors now on and a softer draw, he should settle closer.
Orchid Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Happy Valley Roughie - Race 8 No. 10 Star Performer
A wide barrier is the main knock, however, off a solid Hong Kong debut when somewhat respected in the market as a $14 chance at Sha Tin, the gelding does look a big price here.
Star Performer worked quite well in three trials ahead of his March 30 appearance, which includes a hit-out over this track/trip in February before completing two 1200m heats.
In a straight-track 1000m event where the best ground could be found in the middle and outside lanes, Star Performer was making late inroads against that via his debut effort.
This four-year-old was a big winner over this distance in South Africa before joining the Mark Newnham yard and with a run under the belt, there's room for improvement this evening.
