Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Glorious Journey
He carried this same impost when saluting at Class 4 grade last season and Glorious Journey is now back in grade after campaigning in Class 3 company.
The five-year-old was spelled after being well held in third via an All-Weather appearance on February 12 and he bolted in with a 1000m trial on May 26.
Glorious Journey has been mostly competitive at Class 3 level this season, with the highlight coming in October when beaten in the last stride over this track/trip,
That form through Jumbo Legend has stood up, with that galloper winning of his last three in Class 3 company and Glorious Journey finds a weak Class 4 here.
Tai Hang Tung Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Happy Valley Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Fortune Whiskey
Trainer David Eustace has had a good first season in Hong Kong, with 30 winners to date and he's found a suitable assignment for Fortune Whiskey.
The gelding in a two-time winner this season, with both triumphs coming over the Happy Valley 1200m and 3kg claimer Ellis Wong is aboard this evening.
That allowance gives handy relief to the five-year-old, who is down 4.5kg off his last attempt and he carried 1.5kg more via his last victory on February 5.
Fortune Whiskey has had excuses of late, as he covered ground two starts back via a brave third and last time out, he spotted them a big start from a wide draw.
Sheung Shui Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Happy Valley Roughie - Race 8 No. 11 Wukong Jewellery
This three-year-old was flat last time out when remaining at 1200m, but his Hong Kong debut was encouraging and the rise is distance suits this evening.
Breeding also supports this trip increase for Wukong Jewellery, with the son of Too Darn Hot being a half-brother to Outovstock (Group 3 winner at 2000m).
When campaigning as 'Saint Aubins', the gelding broke through over 1423m via his second start in Australia and he sustained a long run in that triumph.
It's a competitive Class 3 for the penultimate, where the market fancies are mostly well exposed and that could leave it open for a youngster with upside.
Cheung Sheung Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 9 No. 6 Fatal Blow
This Mark Newnham-trained galloper has won two of seven starts (both at Happy Valley) and that includes a return victory over this track/trip on April 16.
Fatal Blow has been up in grade subsequently and the son of Russian Revolution has looked a prime blinkers candidate in his last two attempts.
He's backing up from a fourth-place finish and given he was forced back early before searching for runs, there was merit to that last performance.
From gate six and with the blinkers on, Fatal Blow can ideally settle a touch closer and then produce off what's predicted to be a good tempo up front.
