2023 Hyde Novices' Hurdle Entries
Topping the market for Friday's second Grade Two is Captain Teague, who ran out an impressive winner of the Persian War on his first start over obstacles. Paul Nicholls' star will carry a seven-pound penalty for that success, but that hasn't stopped the bookmakers from listing Captain Teague as their even-money favourite.
Willie Mullins has handed an entry to Space Tourist, who won a Listed Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Limerick last time out. Nicky Henderson and Nico De Boinville could team up with Impose Toi, who's also entered for a handicap at Cheltenham on Saturday.
John McConnell could be represented by unbeaten hurdler Kinbara. Olly Murphy has entered up Resplendent Grey, who stayed on well to finish second behind Captain Teague in the Persian War.
Peter Fahey's The Big Doyen and John Murphy's Black Bamboo could also fly the flag for Ireland in Friday's feature. Other possible runners include Dan Skelton's Heltenham, Minella Missile for Evan Williams, Sam Thomas' Alfie's Princess and Wild Side Of Life for Laura Morgan.
