Durbanville racecourse hosts their second meeting of the week today, with the first race going off at 11:37am (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing best bets for today.

Durbanville Tips - Saturday 17th October

Race 2 - SAUTERELLE (1)

SAUTERELLE should have finished closer to the winner on debut over this C&D as she had to be switched for running room at the 100m mark. The daughter of Futura would have gained from the experience and Richard Fourie steps into the saddle. She is drawn in pole position and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Race 3 - GETORIX PRINCESS (5)

GETORIX PRINCESS produced a promising debut effort over 1400m on this course. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The slight concern is the drop to 1250m. However, with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.

Race 5 - EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN (3)

EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN won a good race in the Grade 1 HKJC Champions Cup last time. He returns from a 12- week break and makes his seasonal debut. The son of Lancaster Bomber is at his best over further but he is the class horse, and should be too good for this field.

Race 6 - CONTINUE THE DREAM (6)

CONTINUE THE DREAM was an impressive winner on debut over this C&D. He took time to find his feet, but showed a good turn of foot and won with a ton in hand. The well-bred son of Gimmethegreenlight is related to multiple Grade 1 winners. He does take on stronger company, but could be anything and can remain unbeaten.

Race 8 - MAGMA FLOW (3)

MAGMA FLOW raced wide around the turn in the Grade 3 Matchem Stakes last time and faded badly in the straight. His penultimate run when sixth over this C&D, catches the eye. He is having his peak run and should be cherry-ripe. The son of Erupt takes a big drop in class and on best form shown, he can cause an upset.

Verdict

Eight On Eighteen (Race 8) is Magic Tips' best bet at Durbanville on Saturday.
