Fairview racecourse hosts its usual Friday meeting today, and the first race is set to go off at 11:10am (UK Time). To help you try and find a few winners, here are Magic Tips' South African Horse Racing selections for today.

Fairview Tips - Friday 23rd October

Race 1 - DESTREGA (3)

DESTREGA is the top bet on the programme. She has finished second in both her efforts over this C&D. She challenged strongly last time, but found one too good in the form of Lightscameraaction. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and should take a power of beating.

Race 4 - CHATTERBOX (5)

CHATTERBOX is lightly raced with good form to her credit. She raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Carnival. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is likely to race on the pace from her good draw of two and may be hard to peg back.

Race 6 - MAKHACHEV (2)

MAKHACHEV has good consistent form to his credit. He raced from a handy position over 2000m on the turf last time and tried hard all the way to the line. It must be noted that Wild Fig has come out and won again since. Muzi Yeni knows him well and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

Race 7 - FANTINE (5)

FANTINE finished strongly when winning her last start over this C&D, last week Sunday. She had to overcome the widest draw that day. The daughter of Hawwaam is in a good space and if this run has not come too soon, she can follow up.

Race 8 - BLOOD OF EDEN (8)

BLOOD OF EDEN stayed on when sixth over 1400m on this course last time. The daughter of Heavenly Blue is having her peak run today and should enjoy the rise to 1600m. She jumps from a good draw of four and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can cause a surprise.

Verdict

Destrega (Race 1) Magic Tips' best bet of the day at Fairview on Friday.
