It's the morning of the Grand National, and Jagwar has been backed into second-favouritism for today's main event.
Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero's star enjoyed a fantastic novice campaign over fences last season, claiming his fourth victory in the Plate Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. Jagwar was then chinned on his first two starts of this season, and suffered another narrow defeat in the Ultima at Cheltenham last month.
Jagwar had to record a win or a placed effort in a 3m chase to qualify for the Grand National. Having done just that, the JP McManus-owned seven-year-old has been popular in the betting ever since, and looks set to rival Panic Attack for favouritism.
Jagwar will wear the famous yellow and green silks of owner JP McManus, and a distinguishing all green cap. Mark Walsh will take the ride again, and Jagwar is number 22 on your Grand National racecard.
