Mick Appleby will travel over to the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita with a live chance of claiming Group One glory.
Big Evs has been prolific in Britain so far this season. Appleby's stable star won the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and has since followed up with victories in the Molecomb and Flying Childers Stakes.
The only blip during Big Evs campaign came in the Nunthorpe at York, where Appleby's juvenile took on his elders for the first time and was well-beaten as another Breeders' Cup contender, Live In The Dream ran out an impressive winner.
Having put that performance behind him at Doncaster, Appleby has been training Big Evs for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf ever since and the trainer fancies his star to produce a big performance at Santa Anita.
"Big Evs came out of his Doncaster race well. He's in great form." Appleby said to the press. "We've freshened him up a bit after that and it's all systems go for the Breeders' Cup."
"It's really exciting. Every trainer always wants to have a runner at the Breeders' Cup. It's probably the best racing in the world there, so it's a good boost for the whole yard."
"We'll have him back in full work a couple of weeks before he goes and have him primed for when he leaves here. We're going to take him for a racecourse gallop around a bend about a week before he leaves. He is a very straightforward horse, takes everything in his stride, so I don't think it will be a problem for him at all. I just hope we don't get an outside draw (At Santa Anita)."
"We toyed with the idea after Goodwood. He hated the heavy ground but he was very impressive there and battled really well."
"I think Doncaster was a career-best effort. When you look at the sectional times of the race he should never have won it. He was doing ten second furlongs for the first three furlongs and he should never have kept that up, but he did."
"From the first time we worked him with the other two-year-olds he was just blitzing them, so we had to work him with the older horses. None of the other two-year-olds could live with him."
Big Evs is the 5/1 favourite with bet365 for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, ahead of fellow Royal Ascot winner, Crimson Advocate. Bucanero Fuerte sits third in the Santa Anita betting, ahead of No Nay Mets, River Tiber and Relief Rally.
