Juveniles
River Tiber
He will run in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. We are particularly happy with him at the minute. We weren’t fully happy with him before his last two starts. He had a well-documented hold-up before the Prix Morny and while he was in better shape for the Middle Park, we still weren’t 100% happy with him. We think he’s as good as we can have him now. We think there’s a good chance he’ll stay a mile on this ground.
Unquestionable
He is going to run in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. We delighted with his run in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere in what was his first try at seven furlongs. We are hopeful that a mile around this sort of track will be fine for him. The ground was good and quick at ParisLongchamp, so he should be fine on the ground here.
Mountain Bear
He’s in great form and is an intended runner in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. We think that the mile will suit him well on fast ground. Riding him patiently seems to suit him and I’d say there could be more to come from him.
Cherry Blossom
She is running in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. This will be a real speed test around a bend, but she’s a quick filly and we think she’ll be able to handle it. She didn’t get the trip in the Goffs Million and to be honest, we think six furlongs is plenty far for her. We are looking forward to seeing her in a real speed-focused race like this as we think she’ll enjoy it.
Content
She’s in great form and is an intended runner in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. We were delighted with her the last day, and we think that’s the way to ride her. Riding her quietly to get her relaxed. We learned that after she raced a gear too high in her two runs before that. There should be more to come from her now that we know how best to ride her.
Three-year-olds
Auguste Rodin
The Breeders’ Cup Turf has been the plan for him from a long way out. We feel the track will suit him, as will the quick ground. We’ve been really happy with him since Leopardstown. I really liked his performance that day. He doesn’t do much when he hits the front and has always been like that. You’d even see it in his homework. When he gets there, he pricks his ears. He has been doing everything right at home and we can’t wait to see what he does. He is a very important horse for the thoroughbred breed. He’s a combination of the best of Japanese blood with the best of European blood. He’s a unique type of horse.
Warm Heart
She’s in great form and we had always intended to come here for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf. She is dropping back in trip, but we are hoping that won’t be an issue for her. Physically, she is doing very well as the year progresses and we really liked her attitude in a battle in the Prix Vermeille.
Aesops Fables
He runs in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint. We were delighted with his run in the Prix de l’Abbaye from a wide draw. It was his first run in blinkers, and they seemed to make a big difference to him. Everything has been really good with him since. This is a different type of sprint being around a bend, but I think he has the right attributes to be suited by that.
Older Horses
Bolshoi Ballet
The plan has been to run in the Breeders' Cup Turf since his last run back in August. He’s had a good long prep for this and seems in really good shape. For whatever reason he seems better than ever this year. I thought his last run was his best run ever. He likes the style of racing in America, and we think he’s in a good place.
Broome
He runs in the Breeders’ Cup Turf. He’s a very honest horse that has gone well in America before. We have been running him over longer trips this season, but he should be fine coming back in trip. He’ll be a big price, but we hope he can acquit himself well.
