2023 Irish Grand National Entries
Topping the market for this year's Irish National is Gaillard Du Mesnil, who finished third as a novice in this race 12 months ago. Willie Mullins' grey could return to Fairyhouse on the back of a victory in the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and Boylesports make Gaillard Du Mesnil their 7/1 ante-post favourite.
Angels Dawn edged out Stumptown to win the Kim Muir on day three at Cheltenham and they could renew rivalries in the Irish National. Tenzing and Dunboyne, fourth in the National Hunt Chase and Kim Muir respectively, have been handed Fairyhouse entries. As has So Scottish, who was the beaten favourite in the Plate Handicap Chase at Cheltenham.
Henry De Bromhead has Ain't That A Shame and Royal Thief sitting prominently in the betting. Willie Mullins' Thyestes winner, Carefully Selected can be backed at 10/1. Panda Boy and Thedevilscoachman sit a little further adrift in the market.
Dermot McLaughlin has won the last two Irish Nationals with 66/1 and 150/1 shots. Last year's winner, Lord Lariat could return for another crack, along with stablemates Captain Cj and Echo Boy. Other possible runners include Dan Skelton's Ashtown Lad, Grade One winners Conflated and Fury Road, Gold Cup runner Stattler and recent Cork National winner, Espanito Bello.
