Once the Champion Sprinter has been crowned, the contenders in this year's Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes will take to the Ascot track. This 12-furlong contest wasn't promoted to Group One status until 2013, and since then it's been won by classy mares like Simple Verse, Journey and Magical.

Let's take a look through the latest Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes betting and run through the British Champions Day entries.

Two fillies who were supposed to clash in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe will instead meet on Saturday. Estrange was pulled from that famous race after landing a terrible wide draw. Kalpana took her chance, finishing a credible seventh, and Andrew Balding's filly will return to Ascot to defend the crown she won 12 months ago.

Waardah was pointed at Champions Day following her victory in the Lillie Langtry Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. Danielle finished half-a-length adrift of Waardah on her reappearance at Goodwood, but could only finish fourth on her most recent outing in the Park Hill Stakes.

Wathnan Racing have supplemented One Look for this Group One, following her third-placed effort in the Prix de l'Opera. Francis Graffard's Quisisana finished two places behind Kalpana in the Arc, and looks set to make her British debut at Ascot. Graffard will also be represented by Latakia, who drops down in distance after a lengthy defeat in the Prix Royallieu.

Sir Mark Prescott could be represented by last year's third and recent Preis von Europa runner-up, Tiffany. Other potential British Champions Day runners include Joseph O'Brien's consistent three-year-old Wemighttakedlongway, Shaha for John and Thady Gosden, and Bedtime Story for Aidan O'Brien.
