All eyes may be fixed firmly on Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, but Newmarket stages the first Group One race this weekend, the Sun Chariot Stakes.
Many of the greatest fillies to grace the sport have triumphed in this historic race, and a field featuring five Group One winners could clash in Saturday's main event on the Rowley Mile.

Johnny Murtagh and Fitzwilliam Racing have decided to supplement Champers Elysses into the Sun Chariot Stakes. Murtagh celebrated his first Group One win as a trainer when Champers Elysees won the Matron Stakes during Irish Champions Weekend.
It's been a meteoric rise for Murtagh's new stable star, who staters the season with a handicap victory off a mark of 86. After connections stumped up the supplementary fee, Champers Elysees moved straight to the head of the market for Saturday's main event.

Irish 1000 Guineas winner, Peaceful was the favourite for the Matron Stakes, but could do nothing to stop Champers Elysses sweeping past in the closing stages.
Nazeef got the better of both Billesdon Brook and Terebellum to win the Falmouth Stakes during the July Meeting. John Gosden's filly has since been beaten twice over longer trips, and will appreciate the drop back to a mile here.
Terebellum hasn't been seen since the Falmouth Stakes, and could return to action at Newmarket before going on to Champions Day.
Billesdon Brook registered her fourth runner-up finish of the season on her last start in the Atalanta Stakes, but the defending champion cannot be discounted.
Veracious came up one-and-a-half lengths short of Billesdon Brook here 12 months ago. Sir Michael Stoute has only sent his mare out once so far this season, in preparation for a busy autumn campaign.
France will be represented in this year's Sun Chariot Stakes, with William Buick set to ride Half Light for Henri-Alex Pantall. Jessica Harrington could also make an appearance, with Albigna entered up in proceedings.
David Egan will guide Daahyeh into battle, as Roger Varian's three-year-old makes her long-awaited return from injury.
Other notable entries include Atalanta Stakes winner Maamora, Feliciano De Vega, Quadrilateral and Lavender's Blue.

Champers Elysees won the Matron in good style a deserves to head the market. However, the race was run to suit a hold-up horse with plenty of speed, and Leopardstown is a track for the speedsters.
The Rowley Mile is completely different. The mile takes some getting on this undulating track. Especially if the ground turns heavy, which it could well do if the weather forecast is to be believed.
A look through the recent history of the Sun Chariot Stakes shows horses who can race up with the pace fare best. Previous course for is very important, as if the ability to cope with testing going.
I'm never sure John Gosden's horses really want heavy ground. Of his two runners, I prefer the chances of Terebellum, who has dealt with juicy ground in the past and has been freshened up ahead of Saturday's race.
Albigna loves cut in the ground and is yet to show her best this term. While she does hold appeal at an each-way price, I'm going to place my faith in PEACEFUL.
At no point did the Irish 1000 Guineas winner look comfortable in the Matron Stakes. O'Brien's filly still managed to battle her way to the front and looked on course to win her second Group One, only for Champs Elysees to swoop late on and relegate her to second.
Peaceful first made the headlines here at Newmarket last season, staying on gamely from the front to beat Born With Pride in the Montrose Fillies' Stakes. The ground on the Rowley Mile was awful that day, so testing conditions will not phase O'Brien or Peaceful in the slightest.
Aidan O'Brien's three-year-old has maintained a very high level of form throughout 2020. This is only her four start too, so it's not as if she's been overraced. I'm hopeful she will turn the tables on Champers Elysees and hand O'Brien a fourth victory in this historic race.
Verdict
The ground will play an important factor in the proceedings on Saturday. PEACEFUL won on heavy ground over course-and-distance last year, and the Irish 1000 Guineas winner hasn't done much wrong all season. She holds massive appeal at 5/1.
