2025 Futurity Trophy Entries
Aidan O'Brien has a complete stranglehold on the betting for this Group One, and could saddle four of the top five contenders. The odds-on favourite is Benvenuto Cellini, a Frankel colt who made it two wins in a row with an emphatic victory in the Champion Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown.
O'Brien had entered Zetland Stakes winner Pierre Bonnard, but he's unlikely to drop back down in trip. Impressive Beresford Stakes winner, Hawk Mountain is another likely runner for Ballydoyle, who could also be represented by Royal Lodge third Action, Autumn Stakes fourth New Zealand, and impressive Galway maiden winner, Piazza San Marco.
The Juddmonte Stud silks could be carried by Item, after Andrew Balding's youngster made it two wins from two starts at Bath. Hankelow got the better of Al Zanati when they met in the Autumn Stakes, and both hold a Group One entry. As does Balding's Humidity, who has finished second in two pattern races since his victory in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Ralph Beckett's Cape Orator could return to pattern company following his triumph in a valuable conditions race on Arc weekend at Longchamp. Other potential runners at Doncaster include Pat Eddery Stakes winner Time To Turn, Adrian Keatley's star juvenile Rochfortbridge, and Thesecretadversary for Irish trainer, Fozzy Stack.
