Ahead of Saturday's Lockinge Stakes, we've gathered quotes from the connections of this year's runners.

Here are the key quotes ahead of the 2025 Lockinge Stakes.

2025 Lockinge Stakes Quotes From Connections

Richard Hannon (Rosallion)

I'm extremely happy with Rosallion. He's the apple of my eye and his win at Royal Ascot was one of the best day's racing I've ever had. It was galling to finish second and third in the 2,000 Guineas, but we made up for it in the Irish Guineas and the Lagardere too.

He's coming from almost a year off and it's hard for them after a layoff, so we've done a fair bit hoping he'll go to Newbury match-fit.

He's been on the go a fair while now and we took him to Kempton a couple of times alongside a trip to Newbury, so he's done plenty to get in shape. He's going very well and we're looking forward to it. He's been a very good friend to me and hopefully it continues.

Roger Teal (Dancing Gemini)

He's doing well. He's done all his work and we have to keep him fresh and healthy now.

It's not going to be easy, but it never will be when you're chasing a group 1. We know what we're taking on, but if he brings his A-game then he should run very well.

It was a very hard decision and it took days of conversation, but the owner came to that conclusion that when you have Ryan (Moore) offered to you, it's hard to refuse.

Charlie Appleby (Notable Speech)

We have been delighted with Notable Speech heading into the Lockinge. We took him to Newmarket for a day out at the Craven meeting and he has ticked every box ahead of his seasonal return. We are taking on Rosallion again and it looks a very strong renewal, as we expected. It’s an exciting race to be part of and we couldn’t be any happier with our horse.

David Menuisier (Tamfana)

Tamfana won the Sun Chariot at the end of last season. She’s in the Lockinge on Saturday,” said the Arundel-based trainer who will send her to post among a top-quality field of nine in Saturday’s Group 1 showpiece.

She's in great form. I think the run in April at Sandown was very good. We left a bit to work on, obviously. We only work on the bridle at home, we don't do too much, we never go on grass and we only train on the woodchips.

She was ridden hands and heels. It was the perfect prep. She had a good blow and will come on for that. The Lockinge to me seems a very obvious race to go for. Personally, the Lockinge is the best race for her. She's a high-class filly.

Karl Burke (Fallen Angel)

She’s in great order and I’m very happy with her. She will head to the Lockinge and then to Royal Ascot and she looks to be in great shape.

At the moment we will stick to a mile with her, I do think she will stay a mile and a quarter but I do think a stiff mile and a fast-run mile is ideal for her as well on a galloping track.

There is obviously the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot, but depending on what happens in the Lockinge there is also the Group Two, the Duke of Cambridge Stakes, at Ascot and she would have entries in both races I would have thought.

Barry Mahon (Racing Manager to Lead Artist's owners)

I think John (Gosden) said they were a little easy on him over the winter after his trip to Bahrain where he got struck into, so he needed a bit of time, but he’s in good shape and ready to start back.

We sort of think he didn’t get home over a mile and a quarter in Bahrain. It looked like the race was over at the furlong pole, he had stretched away and won and in the last 100 yards he was folding a bit, hence we’re dropping back to a mile.

Richard Hannon (Persica)

He’s a very good horse with a high cruising speed. We wanted to take him to Saudi but that didn’t work out, so we stayed for the mile and three Winter Derby and he got there very well and didn’t get the trip.

A fast-run race would suit him perfectly. He is improving and there’s been a lot of interest to buy him, but these horses are hard to make and take a long time to make.

It was very soft ground when he ran in the Champion Stakes last year and a mile and a quarter on that ground just stretches him at the very top level, but I’ve no doubt he’ll get to the top level.
