The first Grade One race for two-mile chasers takes place at Sandown on Saturday, where the Tingle Creek Chase will be played out in front of a capacity crowd. Many of jump racing's finest two milers have won this great race, and the winner often goes on to run in the Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

Here's a look through the current Tingle Creek betting and a rundown of the most likely runners.

2024 Tingle Creek Entries

Jonbon will return to Sandown to try and defend his Tingle Creek crown. Nicky Henderson's star wasn't at his best when winning on his reappearance at Cheltenham, but returning to Sandown should bring about improvement, given that he's four-from-four in Grade Ones at this venue.

Boothill and Edwardstone kept on gamely to push Jonbon in the Shloer Chase. Edwardstone placed second to the favourite in this race 12 months ago, having won the Tingle Creek impressively in 2022. Boothill will also renew his rivalry with Jonbon on Saturday.

Sadly, Found A Fifty will not be making the trip to Sandown. Instead, Henry De Bromhead's Quilixios will spearhead the Irish challenge, following his defeat of Marine Nationale at Naas. Joseph O'Brien's Solness, only beaten a neck by Found A Fifty at Navan last time out, has also been handed an entry.

JPR One steps back into Grade One company, having run out a ready winner of the Haldon Gold Cup on his reappearance. Nigel Twiston-Davies will be represented by Master Chewy, who finished second in a Grade One as a novice chaser, and ran well under 12-00 on his reappearance at Ascot.

Dan Skelton runs Unexpected Party, a well-beaten fourth in the Shloer Chase. The final entrant is Paul Nicholls' Red Rum Handicap winner Sans Bruit, who has finished third on both of his starts so far this season.
