The first Grade One race for two-mile chasers takes place at Sandown on Saturday, where the Tingle Creek Chase will be up for grabs. Many of jump racing's finest two milers have won this great race, and the winner often goes on to run in the Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
We've taken a look through the confirmed field for the 2022 Tingle Creek and picked out our best betting tips.

2022 Tingle Creek Entries
Despite Nicky Henderson's insistence that Shishkin will only run if the ground at Sandown came up soft, the two-time Cheltenham Festival winner was declared for the Tingle Creek on Thursday. Shishkin had drifted out to 11/8 following Henderson's down-beat interview on Monday, but once he was confirmed, Betfair quickly cut Shishkin back into even-money.
The second-favourite to score at Sandown is defending champion Greaneteen. Paul Nicholls' star carried top-weight to victory in the Haldon Gold Cup on his reappearance and Betfair is now offering 2/1 about last year's winner.
Sitting third in the market is Arkle winner Edwardstone, who will make his return to action at Sandown, after good ground stopped Alan King from getting a pre-run into his stable star at either Cheltenham or Ascot.
Willie Mullins has decided to send over Gentleman De Mee, despite a poor performance on his reappearance at Naas. Champion Chase runner-up, Funambule Sivola and Dublin Chase second, Dunvegan also feature in the betting.

2022 Tingle Creek Chase Tips
Shishkin has been declared to run on Saturday. Nico De Boinville has been confirmed in the saddle. Yet, there's still a very strong chance the favourite won't take his chance.
Nicky Henderson said earlier in the week that Shishkin would only run if the ground at Sandown softened. No rain has fallen in the area this week and the forecast for Friday and Saturday is dry. Henderson has runners in the first three races at Sandown on Friday. If any of them are withdrawn, alarm bells will sound around Sandown Park.
Henderson will not take any risks with Shishkin, following his recent injury troubles. If Shishkin doesn't run, then GREANETEEN will go off at an odds-on price, so I'd rather take the 2/1 that's on offer for the defending champion.
Paul Nicholls' star won this race last season and has twice won the Celebration Chase held here in April - clocking RPRs in the 170s on all three occasions. Greaneteen looked as good as ever when destroying some dangerous rivals off top-weight in the Haldon Gold Cup. Even if Shishkin does line up on Saturday, Greaneteen could do a number on him.
Verdict
Given the doubts around Shishkin's participation and fitness, I'm going to back Sandown specialist Greaneteen, who's currently 2/1 to successfully defend his crown.
