Pic D'Orhy got the better of L'Homme Presse to win this Grade One last season, in what was a disappointing turn-out for the contest. Paul Nicholls' star returns to Ascot, having won the 1965 Chase on his sole start this term. L'Homme Presse heads the betting this time around, having finished third on his reappearance in the King George before a victory in the Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham.

Corbetts Cross will continue his preparation for the Cheltenham Gold Cup with an outing over 2m5f at Ascot on Saturday. Ireland could also be represented by Willie Mullins' Blue Lord, who steps up in trip after two poor performances over two miles earlier in the season.

Gary & Josh Moore pulled Le Patron out of the Denman Chase last weekend, presumably to target this Grade One. Hitman, who finished second to Djelo in the Denman Chase, is unlikely to be turned out again just a week later. Dan Skelton's ten-year-old, Flegmatik completes the line-up.
