The countdown is on ahead of British Champions Day 2024, which will take place at Ascot on Saturday afternoon.
Four fantastic Group One races headline Saturday's card, which also features the Group Two Long Distance Cup and the thrilling Balmoral Handicap. Here are the key trends for all five of the Group One and Two races on British Champions Day and the top trendsetters for each race.
British Champions Day Trends
Long Distance Cup Trends
9 of the last 10 winners had won that season
9 of the last 10 winners had run between two and six times that season
9 of the last 10 winners were four, five or six years old

6 of the last 10 winners had won at Group One level
6 of the last 10 winners ran in a Group One or Group Two last time out
Long Distance Cup Trendsetter - Kyprios
As you would expect, KYPRIOS is the only horse in Saturday's opener who ticks all nine of the trends boxes. Next best would be the John and Thady Gosden pair of Trawlerman and Sweet William. Al Nayyir also ticks off seven of the nine Long Distance Cup trends.
Champions Sprint Trends
10 of the last 10 winners were between three and six years old
10 of the last 10 winners were rated 112 or above
9 of the last 10 winners had won at Group Three level or above
8 of the last 10 winners had run between four and eight times that season

8 of the last 10 winners either ran in the Sprint Cup at Haydock or after
7 of the last 10 winners finished 1st or 2nd last time out
7 of the last 10 winners were drawn in stall 10 or lower
6 of the last 10 winners returned an SP of 10/1 or shorter
Champions Sprint Trendsetter - Montassib
The only horse who ticks off every trends box for the Champions' Sprint is MONTASSIB. William Haggas' star made the breakthrough at Group One level in the Sprint Cup at Haydock and Cieren Fallon's mount has been laid out for this ever since. Favourite Kinross only fails to fulfull the age and draw trends. Like Kinross, Kind Of Blue has landed an unfavourable wide draw, and still has to make the breakthrough at pattern level.
Champion Fillies' & Mares' Stakes Trends
10 of the last 10 winners had run at least three times that season
10 of the last 10 winners had won that season
10 of the last 10 winners were rated 108 or above
9 of the last 10 winners ran in a Group One last time out
8 of the last 10 winners were three years old
8 of the last 10 winners ran in the last 37 days
8 of the last 10 winners had run over 12 furlongs at least twice
7 of the last 10 winners returned an SP of 5/1 or shorter
Champion Fillies' & Mares' Stakes Trendsetter - Content and Grateful
If you consider the SP trend to be the least important, then Aidan O'Brien's pair of CONTENT and GRATEFUL ticks off all of the other trends. Content has to bounce back from a poor effort in the Prix de l'Opera, but O'Brien's Yorkshire Oaks winner seems to have everything else in her favour. Grateful makes a swift reappearance after landing the Prix de Royallieu - a win that helped her mark rise up to 110.

Queen Elizabeth II Stakes Trends
9 of the last 10 winners had run at least three times that season
9 of the last 10 winners had won that season

7 of the last 10 winners had previously won at Group One or Group Two level
7 of the last 10 winners were three years old
Queen Elizabeth II Stakes Trendsetter - Tamfana
TAMAFANA ticks off every trend in the list above. David Menuisier's filly is now rated 118 after landing the Sun Chariot Stakes on her most recent outing and Oisin Murphy should be pleased with a wide draw in stall nine. Hot-favourite Charyn misses out on a clean sweep due to his age.
Champion Stakes Trends
10 of the last 10 winners had run at least three times that season
9 of the last 10 winners returned an SP of 10/1 or shorter
9 of the last 10 winners had won that season
9 of the last 10 winners had previously won over 10 furlongs or further

Champion Stakes Trendsetter - Economics and Calandagan
No horses fulfil all of the required trends for the Champion Stakes, as the three runners in the field rated 120 or higher are all three-year-olds. Both ECONOMICS and CALANDAGAN tick off the rest of the criteria, and viewers can expect a mouth-watering showdown between the two market leaders. Los Angeles earns a score of six, due to his age and that third-place finish in the Arc on his most recent outing.
