British Champions Day Results
Baaeed was the star attraction on Champions Day, as William Haggas' star made the final outing of his career in the Champions Stakes. The crowd was left stunned, however, as the 1/4 favourite failed to pick up from off the pace, crossing the line fourth as Bay Bridge won under Richard Kingscote.
For the third year in a row, Trueshan claimed victory in the card-opening Long Distance Cup. Kinross then capped a fantastic second half to the 2022 season by winning the Champion Sprint under Frankie Dettori.
Dettori entered the winners' enclosure again half an hour later, after Emily Upjohn romped to victory in the Champion Fillies & Mares Stakes. Bayside Boy then upset the market leaders to win the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, returning a price of 33/1.
The Champions Day crowd was then treated to another thrilling renewal of the Balmoral Handicap, which saw another shock result, as the 80/1 rank outsider of the field, Shelir handed David O'Meara his third victory in this valuable contest.
